Racing
1. The Regattas will be held in accordance with the ARA Rules of Racing and the ARA Water Safety Code. Boats must also carry an Environment Agency registration plate to row on the Upper Thames
2. The Regattas will be rowed three abreast, downstream towards Kingston Bridge Except for Junior 13 and below events.
3. The Amateur Regatta will be raced over 1,000 metres from stake boats. The Borough Regatta will be raced over 500 metres with a free start.
4. Crews which lose in the first round of S4, Novice and Junior events with more than three entries will race in repechage heats. Repechage winners will go forward to race with first
round winners.
5. Losers in the first round of Junior 13 and below events where there are more than three entries will be entered into a Plate event.
Events and Entrance Fees
6. The Regatta Committee reserves the right to withdraw an event and refund the entry fee, or to promote crews to the next senior event if there are insufficient entries.
7. The Borough Regatta committee will endeavour to accommodate crews whose status has changed as a result of a win at the Amateur regatta. If this is not possible, entry fees will be returned.
8. The entrance fee is £8 per seat:
Eights £64
Fours and Quads £32
Pairs & Doubles £16
Sculls £ 8
Administration
9. Entries should be submitted on Standard ARA Entry Forms and include Names and Membership Numbers plus Rowing or Sculling Points for entrants in events that could be qualifying. Dates of birth must be provided for competitors in age-qualifying events. The ARA Day Registration fee must be paid on each day by competitors without Registration Numbers.
10. This information must be provided for all crew members before a crew may boat.
11. All Entry fees and Day Registration fees must be paid before crews are allowed to boat. Cheques should be made payable to ‘Kingston Amateur Regatta’.
12. Competitors who are racing in finals must present their racing licences before racing, and those who win qualifying events will have their cards updated before being returned. Trophies will be withheld until licences for the whole crew have been updated.
13. No competitor may represent more than one Club on one day of the Regatta.
14. Details of doubling up and boat sharing must be provided on the entry forms. This will be catered for in the first round, but is at the entrant’s risk thereafter, although every effort will be made to avoid clashes.
15. Competitors must supply their own boats and blades.
16. Coxes are responsible for supplying their own weights if required.
17. Boating facilities will be provided on the Middlesex bank, above Kingston Bridge. Parking will be available for boat trailers, and separately for cars. The Regatta will endeavour to ensure the security of all equipment, but cannot accept responsibility in this respect. All competitors and clubs should insure their property and make their own arrangements for its safety.
Entries
18. Entries must be received by 12.00 noon on Monday 4th July 2005. Crews that notify the Hon Entries Secretary that they wish to withdraw after 12.00 noon on Monday 4th July 2005 are still liable to pay the entry fee.
